We are not alone, maybe. Earlier this month, the Solar and Heliosperic Observatory (SOHO), a special spacecraft which was created by a European industrial consortium, noted a particular contradiction between similar images released by both NASA and SOHO respectively. SOHO is a collaborative project between the European Space Agency (ESA) and NASA. Even though SOHO started out with the intention of carrying out a two year mission, it has continued its operation ever since it started in 1996.
Earlier this month, SOHO has captured an image of what appears to be a big UFO spacecraft located very near the Sun. Apparently, this is the third time in 2012 that SOHO has captured similar objects near the Sun. The initiation of SOHO during the 1990s was to study the Sun. Apart from that, it has also been successful in detecting comets near the Sun.
Apart from studying the Sun, SOHO has… Continue reading →

Are we alone? This is probably one of the most frequently asked questions in our lifetime. This is really a dichotomous question, it’s either you believe in it or you don’t. Non-believers justify these encounters with madness and insanity but have never really explained why alien encounters, UFO sightings and alien abductions have been told and retold many times over the course of history. What do you believe?
Recently, the Daily Mail has provided an in depth article on the alien encounters of some of the believers. Their accounts were provided with drawings and pictures of what they could recall so as to supposedly validate the authenticity of the encounters.
One instance includes Cynthia’s personal encounter. According to Cynthia, she “got to meet numerous types of beings.” She started off by telling the Daily Mail that when she was in her thirties, her father revealed to her that she was… Continue reading →

Acts of desperation are pretty obvious when they’re laid out right in front of you. Thomas Jefferson once said “When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on.” Indeed, desperate people show qualities which are unmistakable. It’s something you can never miss. Whether these acts evoke sympathy or disgust really depend on the context of the situation.
Correspondingly, what would your take be on these acts of desperation? Recently, David K. Shipler wrote a compelling piece of article on the New York Times about the F.B.I being responsible for the instigation, planning, as well as the execution of terrorist plots. I’m sure your initial response would be one of disgust, trust me, it was mine too.
So here’s how Shipler claimed for it to have happened. Undercover F.B.I agents or informers firstly put on a facade; they pretend to be terrorists. Most of… Continue reading →

Good Friday is the day the Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The holiday is known to be a part of Holy Week during the Paschal Triduum, the Friday before Easter Sunday. This holiday has been religiously celebrated by Christians for a very long time. Often, the meaning and purpose of a tradition that is passed down from generation to generation gets lost in time. We do it because our fathers and ancestors do it, we do it because it’s tradition. Well, this isn’t the case anymore, for conspiracy theorists at least.
Did Jesus Christ really exist? This seemed to be the topic of conversation for conspiracy theorists at the light of the religious holiday. The Washington Post even covered a section about it and according to Bart D. Ehrman in the Washington Post,
“Because of the outspoken and surprisingly influential conspiracy theorists among us, I have recently written… Continue reading →

The 35th president of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated on the 22nd of November 1963. The assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy, more commonly known as JFK came as a crude shock to Americans and the rest of the world. While travelling with his wife as well as the governor of Texas, Governor John Conally and his wife in the presidential limousine, JFK was fatally shot. Similar to three of his predecessors, JFK was the fourth and most recent presidents to have been assassinated. Prior to his assassination, JFK had acquired presence in the international sphere for having led the USA against Fidel Castro’s ascension to power in Cuba during the infamous Bay of Pigs Invasion.
For many years, historians and scholars have tried to demystify this national tragedy. This included pondering about the people involved in the plot to murder JFK. It would thus be interesting to… Continue reading →

To many, the term “One-world Government” is commonly associated with the New World Order: a topic which is constantly discussed by conspiracy theorists and skeptics everywhere. It is loosely defined as the coming of a totalitarian world leader or a group of leaders who dictate the lives of people all over the world. These ideas are fueled by the belief that a secretive power elite is conspiring to rule the whole world with a single globalist agenda in mind. Subsequently, this would negate the necessity of having sovereign nation states and instead, enforcing an authoritarian world government. The whole idea of implementing a One-World Government itself is not foreign in nature. In fact, similar empires were built throughout the course of history. One of the most prominent attempts at creating a One-World Government is the conquest of Alexander the Great, also known as Alexander III of Macedon.
As the son… Continue reading →

Have you ever experienced one of those days where you spend so much time searching high and low for something, only to realize that the very object you seem to be looking for turned out to be right below your nose? For many years, we have scientists and astronomers searching high and low for the possibility of extra terrestrial life. But what if the very beings we’re looking for just happen to be closer than we’d expected?
Extra terrestrial beings may in fact be roaming our solar system. Professional star gazers have reasons to believe that Titan, Saturn’s largest moon possess traits which are habitable to support extra-terrestrial life forms. Credible means of calculation such as the PHI (Planetary Habitability Index) is used to indicate and measure the possibility of supporting alien life. The ESI (Earth Similarity Index) on the other hands measures the similarity of a planet to our… Continue reading →

Technology has enabled the dissemination of information to be a task so readily available. It is certainly fascinating to know how much the role of the World Wide Web has evolved, catering to the needs of the many all over the globe. The attainment of knowledge through this vast symposium of wisdom and information has changed us all into well-informed and learned human beings.
On the contrary, the ease at which information can be disseminated is also at the same time, appalling. It appears as though skepticism has now evolved into a mightier weapon held by people everywhere. The democratization of information gathering has led to sites such as Wikipedia and Twitter and many other web sites which question things that should not be questioned in the first place.
Evgeny Morozov tells us on Slate that
“Such democratization of information-gathering—when accompanied by smart institutional and technological arrangements—has been tremendously… Continue reading →

There is no need to give a formal introduction to the Kennedys. Often referred to as America’s very own royal family, the Kennedys were always associated with affluence, glamour and their good looks. But more importantly, the Kennedy’s are well known for their loyalty and commitment to public service in America. The amalgamation of these factors has led them to attain an iconic status.
It all started from the marriage of Irish American descendent Joseph P. Kennedy and Rose Elizabeth Fitzgerald. Together, they bore nine children (Joseph Patrick Kennedy Junior, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Rosemary Kennedy, Kathleen Cavendish, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, Patricia Kennedy Lawford, Robert Francis Kennedy as well as Edward Moore Kennedy). The family of eleven formed the third generation of Kennedys.
The Kennedys were not only famous for their involvement in the Democratic Party within American politics; it appears as though they are prone to tragedies – having to… Continue reading →

History crowned Socrates as one of the wisest men to have existed in Ancient Greece. Commonly known as one of the founders of Western philosophy, Socrates attained a legendary status for his influence in the field of ethics. The life and teachings of Socrates had been recorded only by his students and contemporaries, mainly Plato, Xenophon and Aristophanes. Socrates’ teachings were so radical and unconventional in nature, he was thought to be a prophet during his life time.
Comparisons have been made between Socrates and other iconic religious figures in history such as Jesus Christ and Muhammad. These similarities included teachings which went against contemporary religion. Also, they took the needs of their fellowmen sincerely. Let’s not forget the stark similarity which depicted each individual’s suffering and torture from those who follow the mainstream religious ideology of those times. They suffered horribly for believing in atypical ideas which they stood… Continue reading →
